Requirements for Microsoft 365

Review the following requirements before you back up Microsoft 365 data.
General requirements
  • You must install the relevant feature for Microsoft 365.
  • You must set up a local deduplication storage disk.
When you set up deduplication disk storage ensure that you consider Microsoft 365 data size requirements and other workload requirements.
  • You must have optimum internet bandwidth as tenant data is hosted in the cloud. Backup and restore requires download and upload of data over an internet connection.
Teams requirement
It is a pre-requisite to have an active Azure Subscription attached to the tenant for using a metered API. Refer to the Prerequisites to access Teams Export APIs section in the following link:

Run the required Azure CLI or PowerShell commands as given by Microsoft.

Perform the steps in the following order to get the Application Name and Application ID from the Backup Exec user interface:
  1. On the Backup and Restore tab, right-click the tenant and click Details.
  2. Click Properties > Fetch details.
  3. Make a note of the first Application ID and Application Name.
